I-95 at the Northlake Boulevard Interchange Design Project
The purpose of the project is to enhance overall traffic operations at the existing interchange of SR-9/I-95 and Northlake Boulevard (Exit 77) by providing improvements to achieve acceptable Levels of Service (LOS) at the interchange in the future condition (2043 Design Year). Conditions along Northlake Boulevard are anticipated to deteriorate below acceptable LOS standards if no improvements occur by 2040. Without improvements, the interchange will not have sufficient capacity to accommodate the projected travel demand. The project includes extending the dedicated northbound and southbound I-95 off-ramp lanes to Northlake Boulevard; adding triple left-turn and triple right-turn lanes from the I-95 northbound and southbound off-ramps; adding new eastbound through lane on Northlake Boulevard from about Dania Drive to about Sandtree Drive; adding a new westbound through lane from about Roan Lane to Military Trail; adding a dual left turn lanes from southbound Keating Drive to eastbound Northlake Boulevard; adding dual left turn lanes from westbound Northlake Boulevard to the Garden Towne Square Shopping Center; and closing the eastbound left turn median opening on Northlake Boulevard at Roan Lane. Also, the project includes new sidewalks and bicycle lanes on Northlake Boulevard. A location map is provided below.
